Cape Cod Fishing Season 2025: What to Expect

Happy New Year! 

I love turning the corner into the new year because that means the days are getting longer and fishing season on Cape Cod is getting closer!

We hope you all will be able to join us in 2025 for a great day on the water chasing striped bass, bluefish, bluefin tuna, or black sea bass.  On December 16th, the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission ruled not to change the slot size for 2025.  It will again be 28”-31” to keep a fish on a charter.  Again, it is one per person on the charter.  This may seem strange, but I have mixed feelings about this ruling.  It is a known fact that the population is struggling and the next 3-5 years could see potential closures to targeting these beautiful fish.  I was hoping they would tweak something to ensure the longevity of the species.  This is a highly controversial topic up and down the East Coast.  Changes could still be made, but that is how we are approaching 2025.  One thing we are going to do to help reduce mortality rates on catch-and-release striped bass is to remove all treble hooks from our lures.  This shouldn’t impact our success rates but should help the fish recover.

As of today, there are no changes to Bluefin Tuna regulations, so all is well on that front.

We are holding our prices for the third straight year.  As we closed out our books, we felt we could hold steady and continue to offer a great experience in 2025. So that is what we will do!  We are in the thick of replacing lines, replacing old gear, and prepping for the 2025 season.
